The Cost of Suffering in Silence
As a Los Angeles-based nonprofit, our hearts go out to the Highland Park community mourning the tragic loss of high school student Xavier Nungaray-Martinez on September 30, 2026 This clip filmed and scheduled before the incident is resonating very strongly as the news unfolds. This is an especially important message to anyone experiencing bullying - whether it's at school, online or even at a professional workplace.
News outlets showed phone video of Xavier being violently assaulted before exiting to a fourth floor balcony and going over the side of the railing. Family is now sharing that was bullied and afraid to speak up.
